Ad | Cupar was lucky enough to be gifted a gorgeous book recently called Cupar, Where is KarmaChameleon by Sue Donhym and we were super excited to get stuck in.
Where is KarmaChameleon is a personalised book which has your child’s name and character mentioned througout. I had a few personalised books when I was growing up, and I love for the children to have them too. Personalised books are an awesome keepsake, and this one definitely doesn’t disappoint.
The writing and illustrations are wonderful, and with 26 pages to get lost in, it’ll definitely keep your little ones busy for a while!
About the book
KarmaChameleon is a sweet story all about your child going for a walk with the KarmaChameleon. During their walk the KarmaChameleon keeps disappearing and its your child’s job to find him!
Featuring a montage of detailed and immersive scenes including a street fair, a subway and a mall, KarmaChameleon finds his best hiding spot and blends in with his surroundings, waiting to be found.

The books are ordered through Manimal Tales which is a super easy website to use. They can be viewed by age which makes it quick and simple to find what you’re looking for. Once you’ve found your book, you choose your format, add your names in, choose your character and let the book wizards do their thing!
Standard shipping takes 5-8 days, so you don’t have to wait too long to give the book to your little one.
Quality
The books from Manimal Tales are amazing quality. We chose the hardcover book which is 8×11 inches, and it’s the perfect size to read together while snuggled up on the sofa.
The pages are thick and lay nicely in the book whichever page you’re reading (because there’s nothing worse than a book which keeps closing when you’re trying to read it right?).
The illustrations are wonderful and really give a feel of the place that you’re looking at. We particularly like the page where KarmaChameleon is hiding in the park.
The story throughout the book is really lovely, and takes you through all of the favourite places that children like to go. It’s easy to read and the rhymes flow beautifully.
There is even a personalised message in the front, which I have to admit, did make me quite emotional. I couldn’t have written it better myself.
And when you have finished all your searching and you’ve found KarmaChameleon’s hiding spots, there is a maze in the back for your child to find their way through, which I thought was a nice little added touch.
What do we think
I chose Where is KarmaChameleon because Cupar loves seek and find books, so I knew he’d fall in love with this one.
We did struggle at first to find KarmaChameleon, until Daddy walked in and had a look… ‘Oh, he’s a chameleon, that means he changes colour‘. That little detail had somehow slipped my mind! Of course chameleons change colour!
So while we’d been looking for a green chameleon, sneaky little KarmaChameleon hadn’t been green at all. Just a little detail that I absolutely love!
Would we recommend
Oh definitely. The manimal Tales books, and especially KarmaChameleon would make a lovely gift for any child in your family.
Cupar has been so impressed with it that he’s even been asking me who Sue is and what she looks like. He doesn’t usually take an interest in authors, so I know that that’s a sign that he’s enjoyed the book.
All in all, this has been a captivating read, and it’s a book that will stay on our shelf for years to come.
