This week we celebrated my Dad’s birthday with a lovely little family get together. It was raining no
Family is the main constant in life for me, and I want Cupar to experience the same close upbringing that I did. We all live within 15 minutes of each other, and can often be found at each other’s houses having a catch up and helping each other out, and honestly, I wouldn’t’ have it any other way.
Cupar loves going to his grandparents, and always runs over to his toys as soon as he gets in the front door. He knows exactly where they are now and because they’re so different from his toys at home, it makes them so much more fun in his eyes. Grandparents are such a special part of growing up and childhood, and I love that he gets to spend a lot of time with his.
I love having Cupar as part of the family celebrations now too, and it was something I looked forward to for years. It’s really nice that he can grow up close to his grandparents, and with a new little cousin on the way, it makes it even more special.
As it was a Sunday, and my Dad likes a good roast dinner, my Mum spent all afternoon in the kitchen cooking
After dinner we all sat down and had some much needed chill out time as a family. Cupar eagerly showed off his new skill of pointing to letters and numbers that we read out and then clapped to congratulate himself. He’s learning so much at the moment, and I love that he likes to show people what he can do.
Once we’d all got over our big roast dinner, my Mum sneaked off and got the birthday cake ready. It’s a family tradition that a couple of us will run off into the kitchen in a midst of whispers to get the cake ready, while the others sit in the living room pretending they don’t know what’s going on. My family is crazy and I love it!
All in all, we had a lovely evening together, and Cupar enjoyed himself so much that he went straight to bed when he got home! I barely got his pajamas on before he was snoring away!
