New Month, New Goals | October 2020

To say I’m excited about making some October goals is an understatement. I didn’t manage to post my goals last month, and I can’t wait to get stuck in again.

October is the month of rainy days, pumpkin flavoured food and everything spooky! The month where we get the blankets out, dust our coats off and switch the heating back on.

Its also the first full month of autumn! If you missed the Hello Autumn post, why not hop on over and have a read.

Looking back at August

Before we take a look at our October goals, let’s first go all the way back to August.

I always find it interesting to see what I’ve managed to tick off my list (or not tick off…) And sometimes, this is the best bit of goal setting!

August goals

  • Cook more – Achieved
  • Yoga – Achieved
  • Be more conscious of the beauty products I buy – Achieved
  • Eco cleaning products – Achieved
  • Instagram – No. I didn’t realise it would be so hard to keep up with posting on Instagram every day!
  • Podcast – No
  • Blogging schedule – Achieved

5 out of 7 isn’t too bad, so I’m quite happy with that. The podcast is still on my list of things to do. I’m hoping to get it up and running in the next couple of months now that my routine is more settled.

October goals

Now we get to move onto the fun part and make some new goals! I’ve got 8 on my list this month, and I’m really excited to share them.

One bonus with these goals is that I’ve now changed my hours at work. I’m working less days, which means that I have more time to do the things that I want to do.

Lets get started:

October plans

  • The autumn bucket list – I’ve written out an autumn family bucket list which I’m super excited about. As 2020 hasn’t been the best year so far, I wanted something to look forward to that we could do as a family. I’ll be posting my list soon, so keep an eye out if you want to try it too.
  • Write, write, write – I love writing and I’d love to try out some different niches. I don’t feel like here is the best place to do that though. This blog is all about mum and family life, and I want to keep it that way. So, I’ve decided to use Medium as a platform to write about the things that don’t fit on here. I feel like I need to challenge myself a little bit.
  • Cleaning schedule – For some reason, I thought autumn was the perfect time to do a deep clean of the house. What was I thinking! My plan going forward is to set up a routine and make sure I keep up with little bits every day.
  • Winter skin care routine – I don’t usually do much to my skin, but I’ve always felt like I should. With winter coming up, I want to make sure that my skin is in the best condition for the colder weather
  • Yoga – I am loving yoga right now! I’ve been doing it pretty much every day since August, and I feel so much better for it. I’m working on flexibility and strength at the moment, and I’m going to try and push myself a little bit more.
  • Make lunchtime interesting – Now that I’m at home for lunch 4 days a week I need to start getting creative with lunches. Cous cous has been my go to at the moment, but I want to start trying different things, especially for Cupar.
  • Potty train – We tried potty training over the summer, but I don’t think Cupar was totally ready for it. We’ve had a little bit of a break and I’m going to start again this month and see how we get on.

What are your goals for October? Is there anything you’d really like to work on before the end of the year?

  1. These are some great goals! It’s so important to have set (quantifiable) goals- I’m impressed by how many you’re aiming for though!
I think making lunch interesting is such a great one; I’m terrible at doing more than crackers if I’m eating lunch home alone! Thanks for sharing ☺️

    1. I do like to push myself haha! I’m feeling quite positive this month, so it’s nice to have some things to aim for 🙂

I’m terrible at lunches too. I eat cous cous almost every day! I really need to try something a bit different.
